The parish council is a consultee on local planning applications. The council sends its recommendations and comments to the Development Services Division of West Dorset District Council, which is the Planning Authority.

Full details of all applications can be found on the Dorsetforyou website, and a specific application can be found by entering the reference number given in the table into the appropriate search box.   If you wish to refer to earlier applications and study all the related documents, these can be found by entering the name of the village in the appropriate box on the website, and a list going back many years should appear. The clerk does have details of earlier applications and decisions and will be pleased to provide an opportunity for the relevant files to be inspected.
