Poyntington Festival
During
the weekend of May 20th/21st. the village of Poyntington will change from a
quiet backwater into vibrant activity. It is the biennial festival held to raise
money for the Church, the Village Hall and the Yeatman Hospital in Sherborne.
The Village square, where, on a busy day, you might see at the same time, two
people with a dog and a horse, will spring into life: like the rare flowering of
some exotic plant after rain in the desert.
Bands will play, Books, Plants, Pictures, Cakes sold. A coconut shy, boat
swings, the whole gamut of a two day festival will be available. If you miss
this excitement, you will have to wait another two years!
The added plus is that it won't cost a small fortune for the whole family to
enjoy themselves.
Something for nothing? Not quite, but value for money without a doubt!
