Annual Christmas Wine Tasting Evening

Held at Oborne Village Hall on 25th November 2005, this is an event that started 4 years ago and has now become an institution in the village - the Annual Christmas Wine Tasting Evening - Organised by Ian Crawford-Smith and Bob Twiggins.

8 wines are tasted, and scored (as a bit of fun!) by the 40 people present.  The wines range from moderately priced ones to slightly more expensive ones.  The evening rounds off with any remaining wine being drunk to an accompaniment of cheese and home-made paté by Sandra Twiggins and Ann Crawford-Smith.

There are only 40 tickets on sale for each evening - and these are becoming more fought over as the years go by.  There is also a raffle of a range of wines to raise funds for the village hall.
