Minutes of Meeting held at Poyntington Village Hall on Thursday 5th January
2006 at 7.30 p.m.
The following were present: Councillors Mason, Mrs Dimond, Hunt, Kellaway, Ms
Limer, Mrs Oliver, Clerk Fraser, District Councillor Gould, County Councillor
Legg, 2 members of the public.
Public Participation Session and reports by representative of Dorset Police:
No matters were raised but Special Officer S Goslin informed the clerk prior to
the meeting that she would attend the next meeting with a report showing all
matters dealt with by the police in our parishes during 2005.

The minutes of the
meeting held on 8th December 2005 were confirmed and signed by the Chairman
as an accurate record. |

Matters arising: |

05.58.1 |
Cllr Legg reported on
progress to date concerning use of a Speed Indicator Device on A30 road at
Oborne and the hope that our application will move further up the waiting
list. |

The clerk reported
the proposed Traffic Regulation Order introducing a 40 mph speed restriction
on New Road, Sherborne and Cllr Legg reported that the Dancing Hill
Improvement Project is currently undergoing the necessary surveys and the
results will be available at the end of March 2006 |

The clerk reported
the receipt of a letter from Mr Knott of Poyntington who has researched the
historical position of the paths between Poyntington & Milborne Wick. (The
letter has been posted on the website) |

The clerk reported on
the correspondence with the farmer involved concerning a report of the build
up of silt in the Yeo at Oborne and that clearance work is in hand. |

Cllr Legg stated that
the proposals for traffic and road safety improvements at the bridge on New
Road seem as if they will be too expensive for the County Council to
undertake with its current limited budget for such schemes. |

The meeting was
adjourned for members to receive reports and ask questions of
representatives of Dorset County Council and West Dorset District Council.
The matters raised
included: WDDC still awaiting the government inspector’s report on the new
Local Plan, although this should be available very soon. WDDC have
maintained their increase on the council tax for 2006-07 to the cost of
living increase (but the District’s portion is about 8% of the whole
demand.) |

for the year 2005-6 to date was received and accepted. |

accordance with budget were approved: Clerk salary £211.82; Hire of
Poyntington Village Hall £20.00 (December & January); |
