Playing
Field, Poyntington. Cllr Mrs Oliver reported on the results of a survey in
Poyntington where a significant majority was in favour of development of
the facility. A meeting has been held with advisers from Dorset Community
Action. The next stage will be to raise the matter at the Annual Village
Meeting in Poyntington in March.

decided to support proposal of SCE for parking for dog walkers’ vehicles
at Purlieu Meadow, New Road, Sherborne, although the proposed site is in
Sherborne Town Council’s area. Clerk to take appropriate action.

Council
accepted there were advantages in the outline proposals for a youth motor
cycling club on land provided by Sherborne Castle Estates along West Mill
Lane, Sherborne, but was unwilling to give unqualified support until it
was satisfied that likely noise problems for neighbours were adequately
addressed. Clerk to write to the club organisers accordingly.

Cllr
Mrs Oliver presented a map and a paper concerning the application by Trail
Riders Fellowship to Somerset County Council to upgrade Footpaths
(references WN17/40; WN17/42; WN 17/43) to Byway Open to All Traffic. The
Vice-Chairman dealt with this matter as part of the Open Forum as there is
concern within Poyntington of the possible effects of this application
should it be successful. It was agreed that the clerk would research this
matter further with the Poyntington councillors and report back to the
next meeting.
