Clerk
reported on letter received from Traffic & Safety Management Dept of
DCC concerning request for a “Children” warning sign. No law to
authorise at this site, but suggestion offered for residents to post their
own sign. The Chairman would also advise the concerned residents that Mr
Gillett at DCC could be approached again when the playground was equipped
and functioning.

– Chairman’s seminar - £10. External Auditors £58.75 (including VAT)

decided to write to Mr J. Knight M.P. as suggested by Dr Letwin M.P.
concerning the matters arising from the Countryside & Rights of Way
Act 2000 and countering the application by the Trail Riders’ Federation
to classify paths between Milborne Wick & Poyntington as Byways Open
to all Traffic. See minute 05.38.1

decided to take the following action following receipt of letter
concerning speeding traffic on A30 through Oborne:
Clerk to continue with contacts with Dorset Safety Camera
Partnership and the DCC Road Safety Team concerning the possible use of a
Speed Indicator Device.

Clerk reported on meeting between Poyntington residents, parish council
representatives and others with Rt. Hon. Dr. Oliver Letwin M.P. concerning
application to make paths between Poyntington & Milborne Wick into
Byways Open to all Traffic.

The
following items were raised for next meeting’s agenda
The
request by Mr Keating of Sustrans to erect a National Cycle Network
sign at
the junction of Clatcombe Lane & Sandford Orcas Road;
The
state of the overgrown hedgerow on Castletown Way from Wincanton
Engineering towards the Gryphon School – causing some danger to children
walking there as there is no longer an opportunity to move onto the verge
in the event of traffic using the road.
There being no further
