reported on further correspondence with Andy Lloyd about using redundant
farm buildings for housing. Matter to be left until further information

Clerk
reported on Government reply to query concerning Local Authorities
(Members’ Allowances) (England) Regulations 2003 – regulations will be
amended to allow travel and subsistence expenses to be paid to co-opted
members, and councils will be able to backdate to December 2003; The
restriction of payment of basic allowances only to elected members was a
deliberate policy decision. (Minute 03.74)

The
Chairman reported on his meeting with the Head of the nursery school in
Poyntington about the problem of speeding along the Oborne-Poyntington
road. It is not yet clear on whether matters have improved.

Mrs
Karin Limer was co-opted in her absence to the council representing Oborne
and Council agreed to arrangements made for signing her declaration of
acceptance of office.

Council
agreed to WDDC proposal to regard the Terrace Playing Field as a facility
of Sherborne for possibly spending some section 106 funding on enhancing
the recreational facilities of the town.
|

The
financial report for the year to date was received.

Council
approved the statement of assurance for the annual return for the external
audit, which was duly signed by the Chairman and clerk.
